You all rock!

Thank you so, so much to all of you who have made donations to this cause already. We're all overwhelmed by the immediate response we've gotten; it's so wonderful to see how gracious you've been without hesitation! Please check back here every once in awhile to see how we're doing, and to see what fun benefit events we're cooking up...the first extravaganza will be unveiled shortly...
Love and thanks,
Meg

Prague-ress.

After Tuesday evening's team run at Greenlake. COLD.

Mascot?

Shall we have an official mascot? Obviously Nuala won't be joining us in Prague, but she has been training with us for ages....

Week 2 continued

Hi all,

Well week two is under way. I am personally house and cat sitting for the beginning of this week way up in North Seattle. (Yes, even further North than Siri). Today unfortunately, this meant taking care of a couple of very under the weather kittys. Luckily though, I got to go on a nice run in the countryside later on, and the clouds even broke so there was some sunshine!

Above is a pic from a morning run Meg and I did last week. Typical, dark, 6AM. Sorry for the blurriness of the photo, but it seemed appropriate since those early runs always become a hazy memory later in the day!

More soon...

Week 2

Meghan, Lucie & I ran Saturday morning with our Team (In Training) folks. We decided we are the herd of runners we usually can't stand on the Burke Gilman trail. Also, many of the bikers on the trail can't stand the group runners either. Needless to say, differences in pace separates everyone out after just about a mile. Lucie and I finished with a breakfast of bacon, bagels, egg, sausage & hashbrowns. Overall it was one more week down in our training to the start line, where we'll be intially pushed through a herd of even more runners, all for the cause. AND I've gotten 50 fundraising letters into the mail, so hopefully the word gets out. Have a yummy turkey day. Cheers! ~Siri

And... we're off!

Lucie and Meg ran this morning in Queen Anne at 6am (Siri is a hardass and runs on her own for the most part during the weekdays). The weather was rainy and dark, but relatively warm due to the cloud cover, and by the time we were done running, the light was waxing slowly through the clouds. The BIG news today is that we all three are exactly 1% closer to our fundraising goal (thanks Clearys!)
We're almost here:

The Inaugural Post

Well, it's raining in Seattle. We're trying to figure out how we'll raise $18,600 in less than six months. Siri barely makes this much in a year, so most of it will have to come from Lucie and Meg. Ideas, anyone?? We'll try whatever you suggest and post pictures! You can watch our fundraising progress on our personal websites (links at right).

Our first week of training went well given the sunshine, but winter rains have set in (and oh, 40 mph gusts too). At this point, we don't know what's more daunting--raising the money or knowing how many hours we'll have to spend running in the rain to make it to the start line.

But we're really excited about both goals, and stoked about the fact that the start line is in PRAGUE! If you donate at least $100, we'll send you a personalized postcard from the Czech Republic...

Keep checking back for updates and photos from our training. Check out all the information at right, too, and thank you in advance for considering donating to this worthy cause.

~Siri, Meg, and Lucie
